I'm just curious to hear if anyone has had to file a medical claim while traveling overseas. Where you using travel insurance? How was the process? What agency were you using?

Hi Mark from Alabama, Unfortunately, I'm not really sure who you are, but it appears you have me mistaken for someone else.

Hi Nathaneal, we always take out AIG Travel Insurance and used it on 3 occasions in 2002/3. Their service was good and we had no problems. We had to phone the agency in our home country when we went to hospital, then talked to a doctor connected to the AIG, explanied what the crisis was and when the doctor agreed that it was an emergency, they told us what to do and where to send the hospital account.Hope this help.

I recently was traveling in another State and had to go to the ER. I have an annual plan with AIG Travel Guard and primary care with Blue Cross Blue Shield. Blue Cross covered $4000 in expenses and left me with $800. AIG Travel Guard asked me to send all supporting documentation and had a check in the mail in about 2 months. I was very grateful for the service and will use them in the future.
